I flew to Newcastle, England Friday night. The evening pic is standing on one of the many bridges over the Tyne river.

Saturday morning I took a private tour of the castles of Northumberland. One of the castles was the Alnwick castle, famous for being used in the Harry Potter films (next three pics)

Two of the castles (Lindisfarne and Bamburgh) are right on the coast and the Farne islands can be toured by taking a small boat out and around the islands...of course i didn't pass up on that. There were tons of seals on the islands and swimming around as well as bird colonies.

You can see the castles from the boat, you can see the Bamburgh in this pic

Here are more pics of and from the Bamburgh castle

The Lindisfarne castle below was neat. It is located on "Holy Island" which can only be accessed during low tide. The island has ruins of an old monastery as well as a pretty cool castle. The weather was beautiful and we had to walk a lot of the island to get out to the castle.

On Sunday morning, i took the train north to Edinburgh, Scotland. It was a beautiful ride with amazing scenery of their green landscape and coasts. Edinburgh was awesome. I was able to see most of the city and it's buildings throughout the day. I purchased a tour bus ticket (ones with the open tops), and the buses went on different routes with multiple stops where you could get off and get on the next bus whenever you wanted.
